Meet the crew!

Since I will no doubt be talking alot about my children and hubby, thought I would share a brief bio on everyone.
My husband is Caleb, he is in the financial service industry. We have been married for four years and have a daughter, Carrington together, A.K.A. CareBear.
I have three older kidos from a previous marriage, two daughters and a son. My oldest daughter, Jordan, is now 17 and a senior this year. She is very passionate about the Theater Arts, Musical Theater, and is a self taught guitarist and piano player.
My son Michael, is 15 and a sophmore in High School. His interests are sports and especially skateboarding.

Hannah is the youngest of the older three, she is 13 and in the 8th grade, she has been active in soccer and tumbling. This year she tried out for Cheer and...made it :). So, that is just a little tidbit on everyone, hope you enjoy following along!

Paint projects

Hello,  I was finally able to get outside even though it was late in the evenings, due to the extreme heat...to get a few little projects done. I am really happy about the Faith, Love, Family sign that I made out of an old side board to a bed. I started out just painting it heirloom white, then sanded it a bit, painted my words on and let it dry for an hour or two, gave it a coat of walnut stain and wiped off the excess off after a few minutes. A little more sandindg of edges  and she was done. This baby is over 6 1/2 ft. long, so im not sure were it is going  yet, either over my entertainment wall or on a beam between the family room and kitchen.                                                           Next is a great little find from the goodwill. An old cheese dome for 4.99 and a solid wooden candle holder for 1.99.  I started out by removing the glass dome and sanding both pieces. I painted them heirloom white, distressed, a light coat of stain and a little more sanding. Then used E6000 to glue the pillar to the bottom of the tray and there it is, my Pottery Barn knock off for 7.00! :))

Jewelry making??

Hello everyone, I have not been able to be outside and working on my painting projects due to the extreme heat here in Ok, it has literally been over 100 degrees for the last three weeks! Since it`s too hot to have my lil shadow (Carrington) outside with me, I have decided to try a little jewelry making indoors where it is nice and cool. Hopefully I a can post those paint projects soon. :) Happy crafting!

Carrington`s Fourth of July tank

So I started with a 2.50 tank from Target, 2 bandanas that were .99 cents each at Hobby Lobby  and some heat-n-bond...washed all my materials first, cut out my design on the bandana for the applique, then simply adhered the bond and ironed it on. I took some strips from the bandana and just tied knots on the straps of the shirt...she was a little firecracker! :))

Hope You All Had a "Blast" on the 4th

I feel like it has been forever since I have opened up my computer to get any blogging done :)...I hope everyone had a safe and fun Fourth of July! I love this holiday, always look forward to enjoying with friends and family, and thank you to all the men and women who are sacrificing so that it can be possible for us to celebrate. This year we went to the lake for a little boating and then a huge BBQ dinner at the marina and even huger ;) fireworks show! I had a little time to make  Miss C, a cute little tank top...can`t get the older kids to dress alike anymore :(.
